Eternal Tibet: Xining-Lhasa-Shigatse-Gyantse-Tsetang - 10 days / 8 nights

Day 1 : GENEVA / XINING
flight to Xining from the airport. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2: XINING / LHASSA
Arrival at the airport in Xining. Arrival and greeting by our guide. If time allows, visit the Monastery Taer, the largest of its kind in the province of Qinghai, lunch during the visit. Late in the afternoon, back in town and transfer to railway station and depart by night train to Lhasa. Overnight on board.

Day 3: LHASSA
A day on board. You will have the opportunity to see the landscapes of northern Tibet. Arrive in Lhasa in the evening. Received by guide and transfer to hotel Tangka. Rest for eating for better adapting to the altitude. Altitude sickness can happen to everyone. Having no psychological concern. Relax and rest could help you. Free meals for all day.

Day 4: LHASSA
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Drepung Monastery. You will also see very well the Lhasa railway station on the opposite side of the river. Visit the Sera Monastery. Every afternoon from Monday to Saturday, lamas of the monastery meet to discuss the scriptures with their own religious knowledge. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: LHASSA
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Potala, overlooking the city, housing the tombs of the Dalai Lamas. A small loop at the Palace of treasures which lies at the foot of the hill. You have all the precious objects that explain Tibetan civilization. Visit to the Monastery Jokhang. A halt beside the pilgrims to the monastery you can feel the loyalty of believers. Then walk in the Street of Parkour, pilgrimage circuit and also on the market square dizzying activity. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: LHASSA / SHIGATSE
Breakfast at the hotel. Stop at the Norbu Linka, former summer residence of Dalai Lamas. Starting in Shigatse. You descend along the Brahmaputra valley. Tibetans benefit from networks to crush the tree trunk to make incense. Night in Shigatse Manosarovar Hotel.

Day 7: SHIGATSE / GYANTSE
Breakfast at the hotel. Discover Tashilhunpo Monastery which is located in the suburbs of Shigatse, it is not only one of the four most important sanctuaries of the sect of Gelukpa, but also the center of religious and political activities of the fourth Panchen Lama and his successors. Continue to Gyantse. Visit the Mill barley. At the riverside, farmers built a small house on the pipe, water is constantly pushing the mill to crush the seeds of barley. Visit of a Tibetan living on the road. An opportunity to meet local people to make their daily lives. Overnight at hotel Gyantse.

Day 8 : GYANTSE / TSETANG
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tsetang. Discovery of the Monastery of Palkhor, then depart for Tsetang. Prepare your camcorder for that long journey. You will have plenty of pictures taken through the Brahmaputra valley and villages. Stop at Lake Yamdrok, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, which has clear and calm water at 4441 m altitude. Picnic (own expense) at the lake, you feel much tenderness of the lake. Through Karola Pass (4200m), you will see the glaciers near the road. Arrival in Tsetang, overnight Tsetang Yulong Holiday.

Day 9 : TSETANG
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Monastery Mindroling on the road, then visit the Samye Monastery, the first monastery built in Tibet by King Trisong Detsen. After crossing the Brahmaputra, the guide will find you a tractor for the rest of the way. Walk to Samye, Tibet typical village. Visit the sanctuary fortified Yongbulakhang. This palace was built on top of a hill. You will have the opportunity to climb on the backs of yaks. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 : TSETANG / LHASSA
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Lhasa airport and fly back to Geneva.
